Secluded stations (hikyo eki) Express of JR iida line　急行「飯田線秘境駅」号の旅

JR iida line from Toyohashi (Aichi) to Tatsuno (Nagano) is a long rural line taking about 7 hours to complete. It dates back to four different private railways based on short distance transports. Because of this history, there are as many as 94 stations and we can enjoy slow but relaxed journey.

JR飯田線（豊橋～辰野）は、４つの地方私鉄が合わさって成立した歴史を持つローカル線です。全線で約７時間、94駅の普通列車の旅で、鉄道ファンに人気のある路線と思います。

This photo is from my friend who joined a stamp rally event of Ilda line. He collected stamps by get off and on the trains and got a towel as a gift.

写真は、友人が参加した飯田線のチャレンジスタンプラリーの記念品です。

昔は、このような旧型の電気機関車も使われていたのですね。

Another event which I joined is "Iida line Secluded stations (hikyo eki) express".

This train stopped small stations and passengers enjoyed mountain and river view or even small hiking during the journey.

私は急行「飯田線秘境駅号」に以前、乗りました。

自然豊かな秘境駅にいくつか停まっていき、のんびり途中下車も楽しめる列車でした。

I also had nice lunch box (ekiben) and bought some local foods at a rural station welcomed by local people.

始発の豊橋駅か、あるいは途中駅でも買えたかもしれませんが、特製の駅弁も販売されており、これで昼ごはんにしました。
