鉄道は、たくさんの人たちをつないでくれる「道」だと思います。 This is a blog about railways in Japan and around the world by an enthusiast.
Shinkansen depot of JR Central in Oi, Tokyo 新幹線の大井車両基地
(日本語は英語の下です)
Recently, I went to Tokyo Shinkansen Oi depot to see Tokaido Shinkansen trains.
Shinkansen services between Tokyo and Shin Osaka, which started in 1964 and is the most busiest high speed rail corridor in Japan and presumably in the world, are now unified to series N700A and N700S.
Trains run every 3 minutes in the busiest period and 15 trains (all of them are 16 cars set and each seat capacity is 1323 or 1319) runs in a hour.
I can also see 'Doctor Yellow' train set which is used to maintain and check the track facilities.
# This place is a little difficult to access and nearest station is Oi Keibajo Mae of Tokyo monorail. I used a red community share bicycle which is recently prevalent in Tokyo to reach this spot.
